Love Matters Most

I put my vulnerability out in a gift shop. I took a step this week when I dropped off my creations that I knew would not be everyone's cup of tea. It is different than selling online because your friends, family, and coworkers get to see in person, up close and personal, a part of you that may come out during the creative process. And they can't hide their feelings on your work.

Yesterday, a friend said that three to four of the items I created were sold.

It was a reminder that it is important to love ourselves and to believe in our dreams. Even when others may not get it.

Love yourself.

QUESTION: How have you stepped out and taken a chance?

I am so happy for you, Erika! Must be awesome to stop by the gift shop and see your handmade items displayed there. I knew people would love your work as I do!
People appreciate work that comes from the heart. Wishing you continued success!

Erika, that's wonderful about the sales. It's always a bit scary to begin something new; I wish you much success!

It is a little stressful to take things to a brick and mortar shop! What I think is really funny is how the owner of one place with my work will ask me to bring or not bring certain things. Some items she totally dislikes do well for me online, but the things she loves (and sells) most hardly sell in my online shop.

I was called today to participate in the Midsummer Night Fair in Norman, where the state university is at. I was thinking it's expensive, but I might just do it! {:-D

That is really wonderful, Erika!
Just like Natasha said, different people like different things.
It's important to be true to yourself, and strong.
And isn't it wonderful when others love your work and purchase it?!

Yay!! I'm so excited for you.! I feel like it takes a lot of courage to put a piece of yourself out there due to the fear of rejection. I know that's why it's taken me this long to open my shops. I really think you are so talented and will do great selling your art!
