I am so Clever

"I am so clever that sometimes I do not understand a single word of what I am saying." ~ Oscar Wilde

I actually tend to think I am so absent minded that I forget what I am saying. Have you ever been in a conversation and just stopped because you could not remember what you were going to say? How does that happen--I was talking about "it"and suddenly it just disappeared from the cerebral cortex within the brain (or where ever it processes)?

I took on an art journal challenge to use only black, white, and one accent color which had to be droopy in nature, and I had to use patterns in an inch like form. I must have been in quite a mood because I wrote some interesting things around my journal page. Now, I appreciate how I chose to use the dog and cat images with that mood;)
The challenge called for us to either to use zentangles or patterns. I don't particularly like zentangles because I keep thinking it is all about rules, and doodling should just be...doodling. To help me along, I used stamps and then added lines, squiggles, and dots to connect everything together. The blue accent is watercolor that I blew across the page to capture the droopy paint part of the challenge.

I also created a journal for the Artful Rising shop with Oscar's quote. This would be fun to fill with stories of personal adventures and anecdotes or just rantings (my favorite way to process).

QUESTION: Do you ever feel as if you don't understand yourself?

I hadn't heard that saying before but I love it! I've been known to forget what I was saying and yet it'll come back to me when I don't think about it. Makes no sense! Love the dogs and cats drawings too!

I frequently don't understand myself and also get distracted easily, which is partly why I always have about ten different projects going every day.

haha great quote! as for me...my hubby would say "My wife is so clever, sometimes I dont understand a single word of what she is saying!"...cuz it is a known fact around our home that I have been known to already be thinking of something in my head but then expect others around me to get my last part of the trail of thought that I speak aloud :o) (and then I realize oh! that I jumped to a different topic)

...and I have stopped mid thought too and have to thing...um...where was I going with that?

Love your journal challenge page you created.

Blessings & Aloha!
Thank you for your sweet comment about our little grandbaby "Bunny". and for taking a look at the art that I do :o)

I love that quote!
I'm in awe of your cat and dog "doodles"! And blowing the watercolour across it is very clever :)
People who are clever process things very quickly - practically finishing the other person's sentence in their head during the conversation!

Love the doodles! I think you've met the challenge well.

I always forget what I'm about to say. I can't tell you how many times I have to backtrack my steps so I can try to remember why I came into a certain room. My excuse: I'm getting old!

Great quote and I think it likely applies to just about anyone with a creative mind.

Yep, there are times I'm very certain I don't understand myself! Keeping a journal helps unravel some of the uncertainties.
